Custody Alerts
When students have a custody alert that is critical to the safety of a student, there should be a much more appropriate graphic than a tiny little "almost hidden" bubble on the very cluttered user interface. Other software packages have much more "alerting" graphics to make the matter obvious to busy secretaries fielding many tasks simultaneously while verifying custodial and emergency contact people who come to pick up students at the end of the day. Please pay greater attention to making your user interface more user friendly.
134 votesAs mentioned by others in the comments, you can leverage parental consent notes and/or critical alerts to help draw additional attention to these students. We did bring this feedback over to the Qmlativ product and much like on SMS you can require acknowledgement on Critical Alerts; however, on Qmlativ we do this per student based on their explicit situation, in addition to allowing a custom note to be added to the alert that can be viewed by anyone who has access to that student indicator for additional awareness.

Get rid of the Complete this step button
During annual registration there is a button that requires them to click complete before they click next. It would be best if they got rid of the next and assumed complete if next is clicked.
Many users miss the button and cannot complete this form and need to be assisted.
If the complete button disapeared to the next button was labeled "mark complete and continue" then functionality on the backend would be similar.123 votes -
Add All Special Programs to Data Mining
There are a number of Special Programs which are not available for Data Mining reports. We would like all available.

Attendance Report
After many hours and numerous service calls to skyward found there is no report within skyward that would break out attendance by day for a range of time (monthly) and then give totals for absence codes.
Need to run attendance data by month for administration. At this time no report will provide the "daily total" and then add up for a "monthly total" of # of students absent fpr what reasons. Reports are run by student not by day. By adding a range box to certain reports maybe able to accomplish this task.111 votes -
Health Conditions to Flow to Critical Alert
We would like the option to have Health Condition flow to the Critical Alert area in Student Profile however this option needs to be at the nurse's discretion so a button to select Show in Critical Alert would be the preference.

Automated Email Notification
Would be helpful if there was a trigger to generate an email when the student's grade/grad year is changed. We have various students whether immigrant international or just incorrectly placed when they first enroll and then are later updated to what their grade level should be. When this is done the office does not necessarily contact any other users that this change would impact - for example - students that would need to be tested for MSTEP or ACT.

Email all teachers at one time for Family Access
Add an option to "Email Teachers" button to Family Access similar to the one that is in the Student Profile area. It would be easy for a parent to email all the teachers as a group rather than one at a time. Skyward stated this is not available but thinks a RFE would be a good idea.
Ease of use for Family Access guest to communicate in numerous situation with all scheduled teachers at one time. Increase Field length for Student Names
With student names becoming increasingly longer and tied to so much testing, it would be nice to have the field length increased especially for middle and last names. Our district uses on-line enrollment and enters the full legal name (including middle) so that matching is easier to identify students without duplication, especially for or high mobility students. The length issue has primarily been with middle and last names (especially those that have 2 last names)

We recommend that you use the Legal Name fields for those students whose names do not fit in the standard name fields. These legal names can be sent via state reporting.

online registration and parent order
At this time only the 1st parent in the 1st family can do all of the updates. We normally put the dad in first and the mom in second but then mom who does all of the registration does not have access to all of the updates. I guarantee if we flip it to always mom we will have a dad that does all of the updates. because of this we spend a lot of time in the summer popping in to a family and changing the order if they bother to call us. Staff State ID
Please make Staff State ID available in Skybuild.
This is needed in Skybuild so they can import or export items to link staff information. They need another field to link to. Skybuild does have the ability to use the Student ID.88 votesLooking into options for adding Staff State ID to Skybuild.
Data Mining is a tool for Student information reporting, so Staff State ID will not be added to this area of the software.

Import stu photos to custom forms/adv cust forms
While setting up Online Registration for the first time we discovered that we cannot import student photos into a custom form or advanced custom form. We like to have student pictures on the emergency cards when we print them out for office use.

More Space for Customize Bar in Student's Profile
The customizable area that stays on the top of each of student's screen is very helpful to users to quickly see information useful to them. It would be helpful to add the Team information to this area so that those that use Teaming could quickly see what team the student is on since many times that guides schedule times lunches (that are not put on schedules) and other matters in the building. Online registration font
I think it would be a good idea to have the option to change font size and color for the online registration opening message. Right now it is smaller and people just glance over it. Sometimes it is helpful to put an important note in that area.

Ability to print a blank custom form
I would like the ability to print a blank custom form for parents/students/staff who need a paper copy of a document. For example we have a student health form that parents fill out which is online. Some of our families prefer to fill out this document on paper and we have no way to print a blank entry form (a form with blanks instead of the field names).

student access/student infor shows both families
A student can see information on both family 1 and family two on student access/student info. this is a problem! If a parent uses the student's login they will be able to see both family 1 and family 2's address phone and email. this is a major problem due to data privacy. we have turned ours off. we would like to move the family information to another tab so we can leave access to the student information and what is located there and turn off access to family information.

We would like Skyward to incorporate two level user authentication in each of the following areas (Employee Access/Student Access/Secured Access/NSOE/Skyward Finance/Skyward HR/Skyward Student). Seamless Transfer of Grades within Entity When Student Transfers Sections/Classes
The current 5 options process to transfer grades to a new class/section is tedious at best. Teachers do not have the time to individually select each assignment for kids when they transfer to them. When a student transfers within the same entity these grades should automatically move over or calculate with the combined grades of the new class.
