In the admin side of message center, it would be helpful for the office staff to
be able to drill down into teachers classes directly to send information out to specific students so the information could be posted on specific students. We would like to be able to email and post this information without having to do processing lists each time we want to do this. At this point you can send the information to the entire class but cannot send to specific students. We are trying to automate a process and this would speed things up if they could select only the specific students and contact them both by messenger and email at the same…

Can you add a cut and paste tool to the style toolbar in the message center like in text box toolbar areas.
Can you add a cut and paste tool to the style toolbar in the message center like in text box toolbar areas. Teachers would like to be able to cut and paste from a Google Document into the message center, but the formatting gets messed up in a direct cut/paste. Other areas of Skyward (ex: Special ed forms) have an intermediary cut/paste tool that allows for a smooth cut/paste process.

Email Failed Notification User Specific- Message Center
It would be very helpful if users could receive a notification if their email failed to send. Or users could see the status (pending, sent, error) of their specific email being sent in Message Center. Currently, there is only a district wide configuration which will send an email notification when any email fails to send. It would be helpful if users could see when their specific email failed so they do not have to wait on sysadmin or question whether the email went out successfully.

message center staff groups
It would be great have the ability to create groups of staff That could be selected to include with messages. Right now it involves adding all staff using additional recipients. That is cumbersome and prone to forgetting someone.

Add <login ID> field to automated email system
Presently, there is no way to configure an automatic email to students containing their Student Access Login ID—not unless you configure the username to be the same as a currently existing field, such as namekey. Ideally, we would want to configure an automated email based on the Enrollment Change/Student Entered trigger with the ability to insert <login ID>.

Email Attachments
Please add a feature to allow users to add an attachment when email parents from the Family tab of the student profile in Student Management.
We sometimes need to send an email with an attachment to a specific parent with an attachment & we want it to come from our "no reply" email. Being able to just click on the parent's email address from the Family tab is slick, but we cannot add an attachment. Instead, we have to use create a proc list with one student and send it via the message center. More steps that take more time…

Message Center Individual Email
In the virtual world we currently now all live in we have found a need to be able to complete mail merge letters with select information that just applies to that individual and we then want to be able to send this information via email to students and/or guardians. Like a process where I can pick students I want and attach a document that only applies to them and send it to them individually from a list. EX: Class list that would supply individual students with their login information and password for a project specific to them

MOI entry triggers automated email to support with multilevel communication
Add an automated email for MOI changes/updates so when the MOI is changed, it would automatically trigger communication to corresponding staff (classroom teachers), secretaries and specialists (library staff, phy. ed., art, etc.) to notify them the return date or last day of in-person or virtual learning.
The same to be done for parents to notify them of the approval request to their desired instructional program change (in-person to virtual or virtual to in-person).
This would have to be visible by staff and in Skyward Family Access.

Message Center - allow TIME to be included when posting to Student and Family Access Message Screen
When creating a message in the message center, there are 2 options, include in Student / Family Access and email. With the email you can specify a date AND time when it will be sent. But with Posting to Student / Family Access you only get a date.
Please allow the same TIME option to be included for WHEN it will post to the student / family access page too. We might send an email at 6 pm and we do not want "early" notice also being posted to the message wall in Student / Family Access. The messages should…

Message Center
It would be great if on the message center, you could also have a Staff selection. Alot of times, I send out district wide messages for fundraisers and such. For staff, I enter additional names. That is time consuming and I honestly could forget someone. Having that option to select staff along with teachers, parents and students would be a huge help...because teachers do not include staff.

Message Center Attachment Size Limitation check BEFORE allowing user to save/send message
Currently if a message exceeds the attachment size limitation there is not an instant notification to the user in Message Center. The current setup allows the user to add large attachments that end up went saved try to process in the email queue for hours (we had an example of 6 hours) before failing and giving an error. In addition, the time that is spent for these messages to try and process and fail it is also holding up other messages from being sent with small or no attachments (until hours later). If the system could do a file size…
13 votesThank you for submitting this idea to the Product Ideas Portal.
After some review, we have determined what we believe is causing Message Center email queues to error out due to attachment file sizes.
This is due to a user attaching more than one file to their email within Message Center with a total combined file size exceeding the allowed maximum for the district’s email client.
To help prevent this from happening, we will add the ability to set a maximum size limit for all attachments (“Total size limit for all Message Center Attachments for a given message”). This configuration will be located in the Maximum Attachment Size setup area (PS\SA\DM\DS).
Thanks!

Message Center - Favorite for quick access
Teachers would like the ability to make the Message Center page a Favorite when logged into Educator Access Plus.
Currently, they must navigate to each class first.11 votes -

Ability to Set a Post Time
We send a lot of emails at a specific time of day but I cannot control when it posts. As soon as I click "save" it will post even though I set the message to go out at a later time that day.

All Fields in Data Mining Should Also Be Available As Insertable Fields For Automated Emails and Messages
It seems odd that only specific fields are available to be inserted into Automated Emails and none are available in the Messaging Center. It would be extremely helpful to have the ability to create an Automated Email using all the fields available via data mining.

message center ranges
Please add Next Year status as one of the range options when using Message Center by Range. This is helpful so that we don't send messages about next year information when we already know they will not be attending the district next school year. I know we can create a processing list and do it that way, but that is way more cumbersome for the end user.

Message Center
It would be extremely convenient and helpful if, when creating a message in the Message Center to send a "test message" to just the person who is creating the message prior to sending it out to students and/or families? It would be a nice feature to be able to "test" the message by sending it to oneself to make sure it is set up correctly prior to sending to students and families. Thank you!

Add Move Date as pre-defined field for address change automated email
We have a very transient district and have many families that move and give us a future move date. When we put in a new address we have an automated email that goes out to our specific staff that need it. We would like to be able to enter in future moves so that our transportation director is aware and we would like to give him the date it will take place. When you are on the Student Profile > General > Addresses tab and select Move to New Home it asks you for a Move Date. We would like…
