Student Indicators for Attendance
This is a joint rfe from Amarillo and Birdville. We would like to be able to have the option to set student indicator(s) based on student attendance. Our districts are having to watch our student's attendance and it would be extremely helpful if we were able to have a student indicator that each district would be able to customize. Our idea is have a nightly job that runs as a scheduled tasks that would set a flag for all students who met the criteria set in the nightly job. Attachments
Because there are a variety of areas in which to attach it would be extremely beneficial to have ALL attachments populate under the attachment tab regardless of what category/area they were attached under. if we can get the ability to attach things in a more specific manner that would greatly enhance the ability to appropriately document/scan/file things (and subsequently find them again quickly when needed). For example: the ability to attach to a specific injury or the ability to attach to the vaccine entry area (for maintaining Conscientious Objector forms) and the ability to attach a referral response in hearing/vision/scoliosis.

Allow parents to EDIT and RESUBMIT a NSOE application!

IDEA: Please allow parents to EDIT a NSOE through Skyward, as it would be extremely beneficial for our campuses. If the skyward developing team could add a way for the registrars at the campuses to flag a NSOE application as “INCOMPLETE”, the parent would then be able to return to the application and resubmit any documents when necessary. In the event we have parents uploading incorrect documents or are missing docs/information, the parent could resubmit. Need a way to send email reminders to parents who have incompleted returning student registrations
It is impossible to get an accurate list in data mining of parents with incomplete returning student registration (believe me, we've tried - verification status is not an accurate indicator and includes parents who are new to the district who are complete because they have completed new student enrollment). However, we need to periodically email our parents who have incomplete online returning student registration and have no reliable way to do so. Student Name Field Not Long Enough
Student name fields do not allow enough characters to allow for full legal name to be inputted. Need to increase number of characters allowed in first middle and last name fields.

Add an additional code
If a student is late more than 20 minutes our district marks the student as absent. It would be so helpful if the tardy kiosk could be set up so that an additional code could be added in with set times each period to mark the student absent instead of tardy.
This enhancement would save time for attendance secretaries who now have to run reports and then change the students tardy to an absence.67 votes -
Would like the transcript tab in Family Access
It would be a huge help if students could view the transcript tab in Family Access to see if the school has sent out the transcripts to the colleges that they had requested and when.
65 votesGreat suggestion! One way that transcript sent information can be visible in Family and Student Access is to use Data Mining and the Report Directory. This will even work for any information you can put together in a Data Mining report!
Within Data Mining, after you’ve created the report, you can select which entities you’d want this to be available for Family Access Display tab. You will then need to turn on the Report Directory within the Family Access Entity Configuration (WS\FA\FM\PS\CF\EC) and enable for Student and/or Family Access.
Once setup, your students or guardians can login and navigate to the Portfolio tab and they will be able to run these reports. The benefit to this is that when the report generates, only results for the appropriate student will display.

Area to Upload Career Portfolio Evidence
Related to the new Pennsylvania Requirement for Career Portfolio for fifth eighth and eleventh grade students it would be nice for the teacher (non-admin user) to be able to upload a scan of the evidence. The state will be auditing this information and as opposed to maintaining paper files on each student being able to add multiple attachments to maintain the evidence.

Ability to create letters from office visit area
Would like to have the ability to create a letter that is populated by the information on an office visit. The letter would be a referral for physicians related to illness exclusion and readmission reminder (fever lice etc). The letter could serve as a notification to parents for example: head injury. Would like for the feature to include parent email options like the vaccination area. Work flow for nurses is to document an office visit note at the bottom of the entry that a referral was sent write/fill out the letter on paper and then send home. Would be great…

add letters options to Medication Reports
Please add Report Type Print Options of "letters" to Medication reports. Also include email parent options. (see vaccination reports). Include standing merge fields for building letters and include Medication-specific merge fields including but not necessarily limited to:
Medication description
Medication long description
Med Start date
Med End date
Expiration date
Current Inventory (current running total)
Medication route

Medication Inventory crosswalk for milligrams/tablets
Currently the medication inventory is set up to match the record's unit. For instance if you enter the medication as 200 mg you will have to count your medications in mg. With a 30 day supply there is likely to be a very large number for the inventory. When the nurse counts her inventory every week they will have to count the tablets and then multiply that by the number of mg each tablet has. We would like to request the Title I Participation be listed as a program in the "Programs to Disallow Withdrawal/Re-entry" area of Entry/Withdrawal settings. Other programs that are already included in this area are At-Risk Busing Special Ed LEP Homeless and several others.

Need to be able to export E/W Calendar data
We use multiple Calendars within an entity and we need to export the Calendar Code that is associated with that specific E/W record. Right now the only option for Calendar Code is the one that is tied to the Current E/W record. That means that if a student does a Status Change and moves from one Calendar to another within the same entity the previous Calendar Code cannot be exported.
The other systems receiving this data cannot function correctly because the data coming out of Skyward is not correct at this time. Simply adding this field to the available fields…58 votes -
Medication:Link End Status with Stop Date
Currently the End Status drop down field is not connect to the End Date. So a Med can be stopped by the End Date and the End Status can remain as "Normal". The Medication tab in Student Profile will display the Medication as red "stopped" but the End Status drop down may still be selected as "Normal". This causes issues on Medication Reports and Data Mining. You cannot run a report for Stopped Medications based on the End Status.
Please connect the End Status to the End Date so that it defaults to Stopped when a Medication End Date is…58 votes -
Display Day 1/Day 2 schedule on calendar
Goal:
a) Display Day 1/Day 2/exceptions designations on a calendar for educators students and families.
b) Allow exception days to be locked and exempted from recalculation of the Day1/Day2 rotation.
c) Provide ability to designate a day as something other than Day1 or Day2 but still have it count as an instructional day
Negative impact:

Application of trend grading to subjects
We have set up subjects within each course that each have multiple skills. We would like for the subject grade to be a trend of all events added within that subject. Right now it is set up so that each skill gets a trend rating and if we choose to grade the subject it is an average of each of the skill ratings.
This would allow teachers to report trend ratings by skill or by skill grouping and all events entered would have an equal weight. The power law calculation would not need to change it would just be applied…58 votes -
Online Conferences
It would be very helpful to have the ability for the parent/guardian to request an interpreter in online conference scheduling. Something we can pull in either data mining or (preferably) an indicator in conference reports. Without this we are using a lot of man hours compiling this information.
A box for parent/guardian to check stating they require an interpreter for parent/teacher conferences. Create field for number of days enrolled
Due to state requirements for testing adding a field for total number of days enrolled (which would update daily or given the ability to set as a scheduled task) would be very helpful and decrease workload. Not having this option significantly increases workload for districts.
