Add asterisk next to Identity tab name to indicate student has had a name change entered, as is done under Special Programs
To help quickly flag students who have had an alternate name entered on the Identify tab, could an asterisk be added to the left of the Identity label? This is currently done for Special Programs.

clone processing list
I would like to be able to clone a processing list. Many times we need to use the majority of a list but take a few kids out and it's time consuming to have to manually add them all again.

EA+ - Ability for teachers to search students by Other ID in gradebooks (My Students)
EA+ - Teachers receive emails regarding students by using the other ID, instead of student names to keep things confidential.
In all other areas of Skyward, the other ID can be used to look up students. Is it possible to have a search option or display the students other ID in EA+ Teacher Gradebooks > My Students that will allow this?12 votes -

It would be helpful to have a pre-defined field of "effective date" added to the automated e-mails generated when a student drops or adds a course. It is sent on the date entered and that is not always the same as the effective date.

Automated email notification when a new document is uploaded
It would be great to have an automated email notification sent to a selected staff member(s) when a parent uploads a new document to NSOE or Online Registration.

Single Sign On Mobile App
Please allow a "Sign in with SSO" button on the Skyward Mobile Apps for Android and iOS, so districts with SSO configured can allow that type of security on mobile apps as well as the web.

Provide more access for non-primary families
It's not right for schools to be put in the predicament of choosing one guardian over another to be "primary" in divorced family. Equal parental rights should have equal parental access in the system. I understand there may be cases where one guardian can overwrite another guardian's information on the student, but as long as that information is tracked and perhaps put through the pseudo-changes approval process, then it can be managed.

Wellness Screening Question Customizations & Additions
We need the ability to have more than 2 questions for customizing the Wellness Screening and the ability to put in a return date that can be seen in EA+ as well. I am attaching an example of our Elementary Sick Student Call In Log (zoom in to view full form). We want to customize Skyward to look similar to this. We also need to have a View for Office staff and the nurse to see who is out and for how long and what their return date is. Also, reporting in Data Mining on this would be super! Thanks!

Automated Emails for Failed Wellness Responses
It would be helpful to be able to setup automated emails that notify a particular staff member(s) when a failed Wellness Screening response is submitted, rather than always needing to login to Skyward and check the report.

"Start time" for online registration
I would love to have an option to set a "start" time for online registration and maybe allow it viewable to parents in Family Access . If they try to register, they'll see the date and time that it will open.
Example:
Start Online Registration on Thursday, 8/13/2020 Time: 8:00 am

New Student Online Enrollment Reports
Parent email address should be added to the user-defined reports in application processing-prior to approving the application. you can print them in the portal. However, it only picks up new parents. If parents went through an already established family access account(those with students already) they aren't included in the excel spreadsheet and there is no way to generate a list of them all in one report, especially for kdg. reg.

Separate Student Families from the Student Information tab in Student Access
When in Student Access, we have had to shut off the Student Information tab where a student can see their Advisory Teacher, Counselor, and LOCKER NUMBER AND COMBO. They also can see their parent information and Emergency contacts. We feel the Parent Information should be on a separate tab in Student Access that can be toggled on or off by the district. The problem with having this information on the same screen as Locker Info and other pertinent information to the student is that since a student can see information on both Family 1 and Family 2, if a separated/divorced…

Daily Attendance and Eligibility for Athletic Participation
Are athletes eligible to participate in sports based on attendance? We currently have an Absence Occurrence Report scheduled to run daily against a Processing List. The task goes to head coaches to show students' attendance for that day. There currently is no option for "Today's Date" in this report, so our staff have to update the date on the reports each day--which gets cumbersome. An alternative to selecting "Today's Date" would be to add an option on the Day Summary to run against a Processing or Activity List.

Add notifications of what's new in gradebook for parents (newly graded assignments, etc.)
These are ideas from a parent in our district that I actually think would be fantastic additions for all parents in Family Access since I, too, once had to keep track of a scattered child's assignments. My thought is to have some kind of "what's new" feed in Family Access that would show this information

Tardy Kiosk Configuration Options.
Add configuration options to allow the absent type/reason to follow the bell schedule. The bell schedule allows you to have a class start time and an absent time.
i.e. They are marked tardy if absent less than 10 minutes and marked absent if they are more than 10 minutes.

Which parent is responsible for the payment of fees
In the student set up have a check box or a field to indicate which parent is legally responsible for the payment of the fees. Usually a problem when there is a 2 family house hold.

RTI Referral Report - Advanced Custom Form
Teachers have the ability to print RTI Referral Reports and include custom forms that were part of the process. When they print the Referral Report and include custom forms, the custom forms print in HTML format. The result is a very long list of fields that wastes a lot of paper.
Please allow the Advanced Custom Form to print as it was designed so that teachers can view the information in the same manner in which it was entered.

Apply earned credit before planned credit to grad requirements
We are having issues with the configuration of the grad requirements module. Skyward is not considering earned credit before planned credit. Problem>
We have a student with 4 courses that meet a graduation requirement.
2 are earned credit and 2 are planned credit. When we change from the default to the school year configuration, in both cases, 1 earned and 1 planned credit are applied instead of 2 earned. Both configurations list earned credit as the 5th criteria considered out of 8 criteria. Any counselor in our district would tell you that earned credit will always trump planned credit when…12 votes
