1. Display Day 1/Day 2 schedule on calendar

   Goal:

   a) Display Day 1/Day 2/exceptions designations on a calendar for educators students and families.

   b) Allow exception days to be locked and exempted from recalculation of the Day1/Day2 rotation.

   c) Provide ability to designate a day as something other than Day1 or Day2 but still have it count as an instructional day

   Negative impact:

   a) Examples: Administrator wants to set up meeting with teacher who has prep only on Day1; parent wants to arrange rides for student who has off campus pass for a class that meets on Day2; teacher trying to set up a guest speaker for class that meets on Day1; parent wants to set up doctor appointment for student but tries to avoid missing math class. We have many examples where people need to know whether specific future days are Day1/Day2. While it is possible to sit down with a calendar and count out every other day exception days throw off the rotation and it is tedious for all parties to have to do this every time. And parents may not be aware that an assembly scheduled one day next month is an excpetion day for example so their scheduling may not be accuarate.

   b) Day1/Day2 schedule is set for the year including exception days (inservice assembly etc.) that throw off the rotation. So all is good now...until we have a snow day or an assembly or something that requires the Day1/Day2 schedule to be reset. When the reset is done and the system recalculates the alternating Day1/Day2 all the exception days are overriden. But our inservice days that were already sety as exceptions are not impacted by the snowday so have to be re-entered and subsequent rotation days reset every time the schedule changes. Please allow the exception days to be locked so the recalculation of alternating Day1/Day2 designations skips the days that have already been locked.

   c) While some exemption days are not instructional days (ex. inservice) we occasionally run alternate schedules on school days. At this time marking a Day0 or X causes the day to not be counted as an instructional day and we would like another option for instructional days that don't follow our regular schedule pattern.

   a) Skwyard already has all the pieces - the Day1/Day2/exceptions schedule already exists. The calendar already exists. The FA/SA ability to display or hide different calendars already exists. It seems like it should require minimal programming to add an existing schedule to an existing calendar.

   Educators do not have a calendar view like what appears on the SA/FA display so it may not be quite the same request. But since Skyward already contains all the necessary pieces it would be nice to see those pieces assembled in a way that would address this need.

   b) I have no idea what this entails but am relaying the emphatic requests of the individuals in my district who handle the upkeep of the calendar. It is inefficient and tedious to have to reset the same exemption dates every time something happens to adjust the Day1/Day2 rotation and leads to mistakes because of having to repeat the same process over and over again. Ability to set certain days as locked would remove all of those issues.

2. Online registration font

   I think it would be a good idea to have the option to change font size and color for the online registration opening message. Right now it is smaller and people just glance over it. Sometimes it is helpful to put an important note in that area.
   Add an area in the setup to adjust font.

3. Course Conflict Matrix Details

   I'm proposing that when navigating to the Course Conflict Matrix Details (WS/OF/FS/BM/SB) we also include courses that have ZERO conflicts under the "Number of Conflicts" column. This would make much easier to know which changes we could make to our Master Schedule if we knew where we could actually move the course to - to an area that has zero conflicts. I confirmed with Skyward that the only way to view zero conflicts now under that screen would be to export the screen to excel export our Course Master (active courses only) to excel and then compare each excel spreadsheet (by removing duplicates) to see which courses remain which would then give us our zero conflict courses. I feel that this would take more time than it's worth and would be AWESOME if we could have it all appear on one screen! :) Thank you for your consideration!
   I think this would greatly improve efficiency when solving course conflicts with our Scheduling Board and I think it would be something a lot of districts would utilize if made available.

4. Add Student Grad/Grad Year to Report

   Our Principals rely heavily on the Chronic Attendance Report. It would be very helpful for this report to include student grade level/grad year and/or the ability to sort by grade/grad year. It would also be helpful if a range of percentages could be entered and only those students print. I currently have to print it for each grade level put it in Excel and delete the students with less than 10% absent.

5. Advanced Custom Forms-Add fields to Skyward's List

   I am working on new Advanced Custom Form to be completed during online enrollment (NSOE). I would like to have 3 Skyward fields added to the list of Skyward fields available to select from while creating a student custom form. The fields are as follows:

   1 - Student Physician's Primary Phone;

   2 - Student Dentist's Primary Phone;

   3 - Student's Allergies (as described by the parent in a multi-row text box)

   Parents are providing this information as requested in NSOE "steps" and sigh when the same information is requested later in the Step 6 custom forms.

   Please add the 3 above mentioned fields in the "Skyward Fields" listing as found when creating an "Advanced Custom Form".

6. Simplify the process of combining gradebooks

   Simplify the process of combining gradebooks when the course has both a primary and alternate teachers.
   Currently we have to remove all of the alternate teachers merge the gradebook then add the alternates back then delete the primary teacher and add them back since the last teacher added is automatically set as the primary.

7. add more character to field format for Test scores

   I am needing to change the field lengths for the test score areas: screen heading and report heading. Currently the fields are hard coded for specific length. I would like those to be longer - up to 20 (if possible).

   There is insufficient room for us to put in the wording that we want to use.
   
   We are getting phone calls from parents stating they don't understand what the headings are saying. Example: we are using %ile for percentile. We want to be able to type the whole word in the heading.

   I know there is several boxes to break the wording out but then it looks strange on family access and for reports.

8. Share Option in Data Mining

   Would be nice if Data mining reports had a sharing option like other report templates have. As not everyone needs to see all datamining templates being utilized. Some templates are created for just 1 person to use as needed but other users don't need access to same template or information within that template.
   The creator would have the option to either share the template for everyone to see it the way it looks now or not share the template.

9. Display Idaho State ID's in Family/Student Access

   Would it be possible to have the option to display Idaho state EDUIDs in Family/Guardian Access? We have a request from counselors that students applying for certain things need their state ID's.

10. Email teachers/staff about notifications

    We have teachers/staff who don't notice the little yellow (!) notification/alert icon. We do know that they check their email on a regular basis.
    Is there a way that emails can be sent notifying them of notifications/alert and inform them what the notification contains?
    It doesn't have to be an immediate email but at most twice a day. Or set for customizable times of the day multiple times a day.
    Just would like to get teachers and other staff to notice that they have a notification/alert.

11. Configuration Setting Needed for Long/Short Names

    When adding Staff it would be useful having default configuration setting for long and short name. Presently when adding a new staff member Skyward auto-populates the long and short name with the Last Name of the new staff member i.e. Washington. We would like to have the option to configure for example the Long name as Last Name First Initial i.e. Washington G. Also the limit of 10 and 20 characters for the short and long name is not enough. There are many employees that have hyphenated names that are much longer than 20 characters.

12. Lunch Calendar characters

    Currently we want to move to using the Lunch menu in Skyward but cannot because the calendar view does not support enough characters for us display the entire lunch so it can be viewed with clicking on it and printed
    Add more characters to the lunch calendar in the web access for Parents to view the menu. Make the menu printable so parents can view the lunches for the entire month.

13. User Defined Online Enrollment Report

    It would be extremely helpful to be able to pull the family contact email address as one of the fields to Select to print in the User Defined Online Enrollment Report. Right now I can only pull family address and phone and majority of our communications are sent via email address.

14. Have multiple tardy kiosks options

    I would like to have the option to have a late arrival and early release tardy kiosk in addition to a Truly Tardy option. This would allow us to streamline operations during attendance taking at our highschool. We would like the ability for students coming in late to school to check themselves into the building. In addition the late arrival kids that are scheduled to be out of the building during the first 2 periods need to check into the building so we know that they arrived in school. Then it would be nice for the students that are on early release to check out of the building at a kiosk so we know they did leave the building.

15. More Space for Customize Bar in Student's Profile

    The customizable area that stays on the top of each of student's screen is very helpful to users to quickly see information useful to them. It would be helpful to add the Team information to this area so that those that use Teaming could quickly see what team the student is on since many times that guides schedule times lunches (that are not put on schedules) and other matters in the building. Without this information available we've been attempting to use the student indicators however those are not easy to populate and keep populated correctly and we do not have enough indicators left for this type of use. Anyone using Skyward and Teaming has to continually click off the tab they are working on and move to the Entity Tab using several clicks and then scroll down to the bottom to find the team number then click back to where they were working...
    Also my district has had requests to expand this area to a two line customizable area to fit more of the pertinent information so that you would not have to click to so many different areas to find basic information. Each person's use is different but many have 'wished' there was just a little more room to add another like. It does take time and effort to gather information that you could have at your fingertips for each type of use. For Example: If you were on the Attendance Screen most of the day you could have Gender Race Counselor Advisor Other ID Phone numbers Guardian and Disc Officer available. Knowing this information would help quickly make decisions regarding attendance while you are entering it on the Attendance Screen instead of having to click over to the entity screen the family screen etc.

16. Ability to Clone CF from Entity to Entity

    It would be more efficient for customers to be able to create a CF n one entity then clone it to other entities. Customers just starting to use CF are daunted by the task of having to create each form for each entity.

    Any system fields in use would remain the same except for the entity designation. Any test/memo free-form fields would need to be created in the corresponding tables in the target entity.

17. Add In/Out Times to Entry by Date Screen

    Recently our staff have started to use the In/Out Minutes option for Attendance. They would love to be able to see that information on the Entry By Date screen without having to completely open up the student record. Is this something that can be added to that view?

    We would like the option to view the course long description in the course master. Our schools like this course name better than the short description.

    Either always see the long description or have a filter option to show the course long description.

19. additional hearing merge fields

    Texas state hearing screening laws require that students who fail their first hearing screening are rescreened. Please add additional hearing merge fields so that the hearing letters accurately print all of the screening results.

    Need Vision Letter Merge Fields for:

    --automated screening device

    --Need Merge Field for Rescreening Date (2nd screening when "rescreen" box is checked)

    --Need Merge Fields for Corrected Right and Corrected Left on Rescreening entry

    --Need Merge Fields for Uncorrected Right and Uncorrected Left on Rescreening Entry

    Texas passed law in 2015 and expanded it in 2017 allowing students to be screened with an automated screening device. There is no Merge Field for a Vision Letter to indicate that the child was screened with an Automated Screening Device. The state requires that referral letters include the types of screening administered to a student and the results of the screening.

    Additional Merge Fields for:
