While investigating a data import issue with a 3rd party data warehouse, I am slowly discovering the many ways 3rd parties can extract data from our Skyward database. With all the different ways 3rd parties can access our student data (APIs, ODBC, Scheduled Tasks, SkyBuild Exports, SIF), I'm worried about where my ignorance will get me in the event of a data breach. I am especially concerned that API access does not let us restrict or whitelist specific data fields 3rd parties have access to. It also cannot verify what data these 3rd parties are accessing.

Print Students schedules from Skyward like they do from Student Acess
Schedules print from Student and Family Access in a very easy to read format, especially for complex day rotations. We would like to see that type of schedule format available from Current Scheduling, Reports, Student Schedules. We have complex day rotations at our Middle School, especially our 6th grade classes with both Trimester, and Year Long Classes that meet different days throughout the week, sometimes one day, some times two days, sometime 6 days. The Student Access schedule lays it out in a very readable format, much better than the one available in the Current Scheduling reports. However we cannot…

Students Under Grade 3 Receiving OSS - Texas
To be in compliance with TEC 37.005 (b), we would like to see a warning message when an Out of School (OSS) action code (05 or 25 for TX PEIMS) is entered for a student in a grade level below grade three.
Such a message would serve as a reminder of this requirement for staff entering discipline records, and prevent violations of this statute.

Dropped Courses with Course Fees Report
We need a report that will show us only students who have Course Fees in Fee Management with no corresponding course. Currently the report we are running is under Administration > Fee Management > Reports > Customers with Dropped Courses Report. While it is nice to have this report it is pretty much useless in helping us quickly catch any course fees that still exist for classes that were dropped and this is because it displays every dropped course even if the student just moved sections of the course, so we still have to look at every student individually that…

Display Next Year Schedules - Options
Hello:
In working with our schools specifically in setting up the On-Line Registration, the question has come up is if there is a way to display Next Year Schedules ONLY AFTER FEES have been PAID? In the past we have utilized the option in the FA Entity Set Up to check the box that reads: Only Show Schedule After Online Registration Completed however this does not ensure that fees have been paid. Processing Lists - Add Option to Choose View/Edit/Private For Other Users
Please add an option to Processing Lists where users could set security similar to those available in Finance templates. These would be: Allow others to View, Allow Users to Edit, and Allow No Access to Other Users.

Add Move Date as pre-defined field for address change automated email
We have a very transient district and have many families that move and give us a future move date. When we put in a new address we have an automated email that goes out to our specific staff that need it. We would like to be able to enter in future moves so that our transportation director is aware and we would like to give him the date it will take place. Educator Access Plus Secondary Gradebook Reports
It would be great if we could run the reports in educator access plus under the secondary gradebook for past years and not just the current year. If there is a question on a grade for the transcript on a previous year, we have to log in as the teacher to access it. And if the teacher left the district, we have to make them active, log in and then make them inactive.

Career Plan - Additional options requested when printing the student career plan
Would it be possible to have additional options when printing the Student Career Plan:
1. Please include Counselors’ Name and Student ID to print at the top, just as the student name, alphakey, etc.
2. Can the Declared Endorsement & Pathway be listed on the career plan report, up on the top of the page by the student name?
3. Please allow to also sort by Subject Code when printing the career plan.

Discipline Action Details
When entering multiple discipline action dates for the same student it would be extremely helpful if when entering different incidents with different actions a pop-up warning would alert the user entering the action that the dates over-lap with a previously entered incident/action entry. We often have several incidents entered that happen on different days with different actions but it is easy to get the dates mixed and over-lapped when the incidents are consecutive data order. A pop-up warning when entering actions dates alerting user that action dates already existing for this day would be extremely helpful in creating accurate discipline…

Add ability to view only Active Students
When building a processing list by campus it would be nice to view only active students. This having to go through ANY student ever enrolled in the campus is very time consuming. I believe this feature would speed up the process of building the processing name list.

Need to Be able to have 2 different codes
Need to have 2 codes for tardy Kiosk. One generic code for tardy arriving and one generic code for leaving students. Skyward only provides 1 tardy kiosk code for entire district. We want to be able to track by entity and to have 2 machines with 2 different codes in entity. The positive attendance piece does not work for this as it resets with every attendance mod within the school day. We have students leaving all hours of the day and cannot have time reset every single period. The tardy kiosk will keep the time open all day so we…

HOME LANGUAGE SURVEY in Custom Forms
The Native Language and Home Language fields that are used for the EL Export to the state are not available in custom forms. We would like both fields available so we can create the HLS in custom forms, making it match the state so we are in compliance, and use it in the NSOE. We cannot do this at this time because the only field that is available is the Language field, which is a local field.

Add Skylert to the Mobile App
The goal of this RFE is to allow parents to update their Skylert information (especially to enter "Text Message" numbers)via the Skyward Mobile App. They currently have to do so via the web version of Family Access.
Like many Skyward school districts we use School Messenger for our mass communication system (phone/email/SMS/CustomMobileApp/SocialMedia) and we deploy the Skylert Interface in Skyward so that parents can use their Family Access account to enter/update additional contact information especially Text Message numbers - By entering the Text Message numbers in Family Access/Skylert parents are opting in for text messages to be sent to them…

Add Processing List Option to Student Selection
It would be beneficial to have an option to choose students in the student selection area from a processing list when using the Mass Change Categories utility. This option is already available in the Add/End/Delete Special Programs utility. The concept is the same and some districts (including ours) need to use categories for a large number of students. Selecting students individually would be too time consuming and would defeat the purpose of even using a category.

E/W History in Skybuild
Currently Skybuild only allows the current E/W recod to be exported. We would like the option of including historical E/W records as well. The problem is if one record was open yesterday but today that record was closed and a new one was opened the proper withdrawal information for the previous record is never transmitted.
If it were possible to include E/W History in Skybuild we could export all E/W records for the year including their proper withdrawal dates and codes. Otherwise the recipient system will just get the new record and have to guess as to what values to…9 votes -
Would like to add a portfoilio attachments
We would like to create portfolio attachments for Parent/Guardian IDs court documents birth certificates cum records etc. so that this information can be looked up under each student.
We would like to be able to upload these documents to each portfolio tab created so they are readily available if needed by staff.9 votes
