Automated Email Notificaiton for Email Changes
Our SpecEd Dept would like an option to get an automated email notification from Skyward when email addresses get changed- in particular for sped students. We already have the option for email notifications when names, addresses, and phone numbers are changed, but not for emails.

Tardy Kiosk Configuration Options.
Add configuration options to allow the absent type/reason to follow the bell schedule. The bell schedule allows you to have a class start time and an absent time.
i.e. They are marked tardy if absent less than 10 minutes and marked absent if they are more than 10 minutes.

Mass update KELPA tests by Program Participation Code-KANSAS St Reporting
It would be great if we could mass code by participation code in the Mass Update Assessments for KELPA testing. There are 2 different test codes depending on the Program Participation level and it's a pain to mass code all students with the same code and then have to adjust a few hundred students who need the other code even using a process list.

Automated email for student enrolling with existing IEP
We do not utilize the integrated IEP features of SMS 2.0, but would like to have the option to send automated emails to specified staff when a new student enrolls or re-enrolls who has an existing IEP status. This simple alert would allow procedures to begin much more quickly.

Homeless Students receiving OSS - Texas
Homeless students and OSS Discipline. Texas
to comply with state law we would like a warning message to come up when a user is entering a discipline record for a homeless student AND trying to give the student OSS . We would like a message to pop-up on the data entry screen warning the user about what they are trying to do and that it does not comply with Texas law. We believe doing this modification at the data entry point would help districts not break the law - where as a PEIMS/TSDS edit at PEIMS/TSDS time is too late.…

hide a class from a students schedule and Family Access
It would be helpful to be able to hide a specific course from displaying on a students schedule or family access. We have resource "courses" that serve as a caseload and we do not want it to be view-able on the students schedule since it is not technically a class. We sync with Clever and can not use activities to sync those caseloads, so we put them in as courses.

Custody Alerts
When students have a custody alert that is critical to the safety of a student, there should be a much more appropriate graphic than a tiny little "almost hidden" bubble on the very cluttered user interface. Other software packages have much more "alerting" graphics to make the matter obvious to busy secretaries fielding many tasks simultaneously while verifying custodial and emergency contact people who come to pick up students at the end of the day. Please pay greater attention to making your user interface more user friendly.
137 votesAs mentioned by others in the comments, you can leverage parental consent notes and/or critical alerts to help draw additional attention to these students. We did bring this feedback over to the Qmlativ product and much like on SMS you can require acknowledgement on Critical Alerts; however, on Qmlativ we do this per student based on their explicit situation, in addition to allowing a custom note to be added to the alert that can be viewed by anyone who has access to that student indicator for additional awareness.

Delete Attendance Letters
It would be so much easier to have secretaries delete attendance letters that have already generated if a student turns in the appropriate excuse. It is too risky to give them access to the Utility to Maintain because of the "Delete ALL Attendance Letters" option. We'd like to have the delete button right on the student profile- Attendance- Letters tab.

Data mine program entry date for English Learners
I have discovered that anytime an adjustment is made to the English Learner tab the Program Entry Date must be entered. This was a new field added for state reporting about a month ago. We would like to be able to data mine this date so we know which students need the program date entered so we don't have to do it when we are trying to enter minutes for our state reporting. Thank you!

Make a button or dropdown option for teachers when the parent was a no show for conferences.
Once Conferences are done, teachers don't have an option to select "No Show" for conferences. They can check that the parent attended, but what if they don't show up?

CTE Completion, Graduation, and Equity Reports
As Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways/programs and the number of students who are interested in the programs increase, so should the number of reports available.
Our Department of Education is going to use CTE:
Completion Rate
Graduation Rate
PostSecondary Outcome
Equity
rates to evaluate our programs. Similar to our State Testing, PSAT/SAT, and other testing situations where we need to verify testing accommodations and student status (IEP, Section 504, Lunch, and etc), we are going to have to verify the completion, graduation, and equity data.
I would like Skyward to build reports that are capable of reporting out the…

Create Ability to Automatically Generate Letters for Various Reasons
We would appreciate the ability to generate letters for various reasons that will work like the automated attendance letters. Being able to pull students for various demographic reasons would be ideal.

Fee Management Emails
When emailing statements, it would be so helpful to have the option to email to both parents in family 1 - both families would be helpful as well
It would be like the message center then, where you could choose who receives it.
We have so many families where mom is listed as parent 2 but dad is the one getting the emails but never checks his email.33 votesGreat news! This idea is currently being researched by our Product team. Thank you all for your comments and votes .

Add 'Other Id' to Absence Occurrence Report.
Add 'Other Id' to Absence Occurrence Report. At the moment the only identifier in this report is the student key and the student name. Adding this will help in better tracking attendance and comparing student attendance improvement over time.

Edit academic standards in Secondary Gradebooks
We are using academic standards in our secondary gradebooks. Once an assignment is created with academic standards attached and then is saved, you cannot edit any of the academic information. For example, the wrong point value is attached to an academic standard. Once the assignment is saved, this value cannot be edited. The entire assignment must be deleted and recreated. We would like the ability to edit academic standards once they are attached to an assignment.

More Automated Email Options
Homeroom and Advisor changes should be on the scheduling or demographic changes for the student. Including it on the Enrollment changes isn't helpful at all because they aren't yet assigned to a homeroom when they are enrolled. So when a new student arrives, we have to go into Skyward to find their homeroom teacher or advisor.
