MCCC drop after this date should be sent to MCCC
I just found out that we are required to enter a date for when grades should be sent after a drop for MCCC. Since I have many course lengths for each school, it is very time-intensive to change these dates each year by hand. It would be very helpful to have a process with year-end to enter those dates like we do when entering calendar dates. Or a utility to mass assign that date for terms across calendars and entities like we do for attendance days/workshop days/vacation days. Something where it isn't an individual update.

Please make "other name" exportable in the export file builder for use in outside applications like Smartpass
We integrate with other apps via Clever and other tools and would like the option for "other name" to be an exportable field.

busing
In busing, we would like to see a mass add start and end date. This would allow us to set up routes for the upcoming school year, and keep past records for reporting purposes.

Auto Delete Birth Certificate Attachments
As a part of WI Statewide General Records Retention, there are certain documents/attachments that we are not supposed to keep on file (like a birth certificate.)
We would still want parents to upload their attachments to their NSOE, but would like the ability to decide if a certain attachment type like "Lease" could get saved to portfolio, while an attachment type of "Birth Certificate" would NOT get saved to portfolio.1 vote -
KS - When exporting students for KIDS collection, add button to select by Processing List.
When submitting TEST records for ELL Kelpa testing, it would be handier, faster and less likely to skip or add wrong student if there is a Use Processing List button like so many other reports and processes. Right now, students can only be selected by grade level or individually. It takes a lot of time to enter 30+ records individually and they're not all in the same grade.

Space to add more than 5 locker combs
Space to add more locker combs. We have locks for lockers that have 7-8 combs. Currently Skyward only allows 5 combs to be entered so we have to skip the combs that we can not enter into the system.

Improving Access to Custom Forms in the Skyward Mobile App
Many parents have expressed interest in being able to access custom forms directly through the Skyward mobile app. The technology department gets numerous calls and support requests from parents stating they are unable to locate the custom forms. If integrating custom forms into the app is not feasible, an alternative solution could be to add a "Custom Forms" button or link within the app. This "Button" would redirect parents to access those forms through their web browser. In the admin side of message center, it would be helpful for the office staff to
be able to drill down into teachers classes directly to send information out to specific students so the information could be posted on specific students. We would like to be able to email and post this information without having to do processing lists each time we want to do this. At this point you can send the information to the entire class but cannot send to specific students. We are trying to automate a process and this would speed things up if they could select only the specific students and contact them both by messenger and email at the same…

Default Date for Parent Entered Requests
It would be helpful to have the date field in the Parent Entered Requests screen to not default to the calendar day minus 7 days. We have several parents who are putting in requests many weeks ahead of time and we are not seeing those because the date is only a week back. It would be great if we could set it to the first day of school or a date of our choosing.

Option to add Outstanding Fee(s) to the custom report card. This option is already available on the regular report card but not on the custom report card, so this should not be a very difficult PR.

Add attachment to absence request in family access
Parents should be able to add an attachment or note to the absence request in family access to submit documentation of appointments, college visits, etc.

Creating a utility to mass remove student indicators
Can a utility be created to mass remove student indicators? For example, we use the Dr. Note Required indicator when a student has reached so many absences. We then remove this indicator at the end of the year as students start fresh every school year. It would be helpful to be able to run a utility to remove them rather than go in and remove each one individually.

Sticky Notes
It would be extremely beneficial (almost critical at times) to have a "sticky note" option in Students - Students Profile. Have an icon that resembles a notepad / sticky note pad that would allow you to create a personal individualized "note" on a selected students profile. The note would be only for you to see and is not part of the student record. The note would only be linked to one student. Adding a parent / guardian name next to the home phone number when printing the field trip roster.
We just started using the Field Trip Master this year for scheduling our field trips. When we print the roster for the field trips, it includes the home phone number, but does not include the parent or guardian's name next to the number. The emergency contacts show the name and the phone number, so I am hoping that a primary guardian name could be added as well to the report. This would help to know who we are contacting at the home number.

Is it possible to have a space for a student's preferred name and run reports using the preferred name? We have several students using different names than their birth name in Skyward and it would be amazing if we can see their preferred name so we are not dead naming them.

Search by legal name
It would be great if we could search for a student by either their legal name OR other name and have it show up without having to go into Student Filters.
Sometimes it is hard to remember which is the legal vs other OR if a student even has a different legal name that we need to be looking up by.

Attendance Labels on Standards Basic Report Card
Need the ability to rename the "Excused" and "Unexcused" labels on the attendance summary within the Standards Basic Report Card area. Right now it is hard coded and we need the ability to rename Excused/Unexcused labels. For our district we want to reflect Funded/Unfunded instead.

Discipline Graphs should Accurately Report data for Prior Year
When running the Discipline Graph by Offense for a prior year and doing breakdown by grade it shows grades as (10,11,12,GD) instead of 09,10,11,12. I should be able to see the grade they were in during the timeframe selected not the grade they are in now. See attachment for what is returned in discipline graph vs discipline counts report. Crosswalk STAAR EOC Test Scores
Please crosswalk the STAAR EOC test scores. State standards change, and then you have to change the crosswalk area and then we have to learn the new areas. It would be so helpful to not have to worry about this area and would save a tremendous amount of time.

CRDC - sport - team
I'm guessing activities are primarily set up so coaches can communicate with the athletes. It would be helpful if there was a Sport dropdown where we could select the sport that the activity is tied to.
Then Skyward could program how many are in that sport as well as how many are in each team.16 votes
