PIMS student template: Special Ed Status N if IEP out of compliance
The checkbox that allows expired IEP students to load to the special ed snapshot does not help the Student Template. If this functionality existed for the student template for students that do not have an active iep and cross-checked with an exit, it would eliminate a large amount of time deleting tons of students, especially when districts conduct ieps in the same month district-wide.

Mass Delete Pseudo Approval in Family Access
We need to be able to delete prior year pseudo approvals for enrollment in Family Access. While the filter works to show only those waiting approval the system is bogged down with thousands of changes from past years.

Family Access Username Sync to NameKey
Automatically update username for parents in family access when their name is changed and they are assigned a new namekey. This would help keep the namekey/username in sync.

EMERGENCY CONTACT AREA FOR STAFF
We had an episode today that required emergency contact for a staff member. There was no where on the student management side that included this information. This is vital information that each building should have access too online.

Skybuild import/export fields
With the implementation of ed-fi all import and export data fields need to be in Skybuild. I just learned records need to be entered for gifted and talented and there is nothing listed for that categoy.

Student pictures included in Office class roster report
The teacher class roster report offers the option to include student pictures. It'd be great if this were also an option in the Office class roster report.

Other Name
It would be helpful for the "Other Name" to pull into more areas. We want to keep the legal name visible for State testing/report cards etc, but the family and the student should be able to see the new name in both family and student access. At the very least, when an "Other Name" is entered, it should be visible in Family and Student access.

Allow the order of NSOE step to be changed
We would like to be able to change the order of the steps in NSOE. For instance, we want to have parents fill out step 6 (custom forms) before adding requested documents (step 5).

Skybuild Interface Update/Overhaul Needed
Skybuild is perhaps one of the most potentially useful but cumbersome and user-hostile features in Skyward: I often must guess the input format or value needed for a field; Skybuild field names sometimes don't match the name of the display field name; importable field options are too limited (I believe I should be able to import any and all fields into Skyward); linking fields to CSV columns is very awkward; the error/import reports are incomplete and misleading and can easily make one think the import was successful when it was not; and it is not clear what data must exists…

Student State ID option on Student Reports
Please include the option (checkbox?) of printing the State ID number on any student report, especially the Student Information report as this is the only unique reference recognized by Illinois.
Also many of the state student records compliance documents require the IL State ID. Would be very helpful to not manually handwrite or mail merge a sticker onto the report.

Please add MOI as a field for setting recipient ranges in Message Center. There are many times where we have different messages for virtual vs in person students, and it would be immensely helpful to be able to designate recipients according to their MOI.

Allow Skyward App Parent/Guardian Users to Attach Files through Add Absence Request
Add the functionality in the Skyward App (Family Access) so users can add attachments when using the "Add Absence Request". This will cut down on parents needing to separately email doctor notes or other required attendance documents or send the document with their student. This will also reduce the amount of work that is needed by attendance clerks or decrease the response time to updating absences.

State Reporting TX - require data entry for New GRADE LEVEL field for those with POP SERVED of 06
in the STAFF PROFILE area, when adding a RESPONSIBILITY for Role ID of 033 or 087 ... and a POP SERVED of 06 ... require user to enter a GRADE LEVEL ... this would help avoid errors from rule 30090-0120

Indicators on class roster report
When running a class roster report (not as a teacher, but on the student management side) we want to be able to print the student indicators. The teachers are able to print this easily with this roster report, but it doesn't on the office side, it currently only allows us to print the 540, LEP, and Sp Ed indicator. Which is great. However, there are times we want to be able to print other indicators as well.

Method of Instruction - Start/End Dates
We are using the Method of Instruction as a way to keep our teachers updated on a daily basis when students are going to be in-person or virtual, as it is fluid with students staying home due to illnesses. For students staying home one day, we want to be able to put the start and end date in for today (for example) for virtual, and assign in-person for the next day. However when we do this, it removes the Method of Instruction for today.

Allow Message center to send to specific Student Groups
Due to COVID reasons many different groups of students are in one classroom. Group A on different days than Group B but still in the same course. It would be nice if the teacher had the ability, if they setup student groups, to send to just those student groups.
Add an option under send to multiple classes to change to send to students if they are setup. This will then show a list of all the different groups along with the class they are in.13 votes -

Teachers need to be able to print a report that displays a student's Method of Instruction. Maybe just add Method of Instruction on the Class Roster report?

Need entity settings for Student Wellness screener
We need entity controls for parent/student ability to submit. We would not want elementary kids submitting their own screener but we may allow students to do it at secondary.

Message Center Attachment Size Limitation check BEFORE allowing user to save/send message
Currently if a message exceeds the attachment size limitation there is not an instant notification to the user in Message Center. The current setup allows the user to add large attachments that end up went saved try to process in the email queue for hours (we had an example of 6 hours) before failing and giving an error. In addition, the time that is spent for these messages to try and process and fail it is also holding up other messages from being sent with small or no attachments (until hours later). After some review, we have determined what we believe is causing Message Center email queues to error out due to attachment file sizes.
This is due to a user attaching more than one file to their email within Message Center with a total combined file size exceeding the allowed maximum for the district’s email client.
To help prevent this from happening, we will add the ability to set a maximum size limit for all attachments (“Total size limit for all Message Center Attachments for a given message”). This configuration will be located in the Maximum Attachment Size setup area (PS\SA\DM\DS).

Giving teachers capability to take previous days attendance for class and not individually
Our teachers will be taking attendance for a school day the following day. We are doing Asynchronous Remote which gives the student until Midnight to log in.
When the teacher logs in to take attendance it pulls up the current day and they are having to click on each individual student to record the previous day.
Is there a way for them to mark the class as a whole for the previous day?13 votes
