Ability to autogenerate both usernames AND email addresses
When defining the user Login format, if I want it to be an email address, I apparently can NOT also generate email addresses. If Skyward didn't hard-code the '@' sign into the "Automatically Generate Email Addresses" option, then this would not be a problem.
Remove the hard-coded '@' sign from email auto-generation, and also expand the "text" parts to allow for additional character length.

Add a Family to a student by Family ID
We have so many situations when a parent be required to enroll/register their children at multiple schools in our district. If one registrar searches for them by using a parent's middle name, another uses the parent's middle initial, and another one leaves it out entirely then we end up having to combine multiple accounts. We do keep stressing to them to check for matches. If the student is already registered and they need to add a Family #2, if they could have the screen open of a sibling and pick that same family ID number instead of having to type…

Average Daily Attendance Report
A report that our administration offices would find useful and beneficial is to be able to run an attendance report that could show the average daily attendance by date - specifically a report that could be run to show the following information:
Daily Absence Total
Daily Absence Percentage
Daily Membership - Enrollment Total for the day
Average Daily Attendance (ADA)
Average Daily Membership (ADM)Ranges to run by Grade Level and by Building and possibly homeroom

Increase Field length for Student Names
With student names becoming increasingly longer and tied to so much testing, it would be nice to have the field length increased especially for middle and last names. Our district uses on-line enrollment and enters the full legal name (including middle) so that matching is easier to identify students without duplication, especially for or high mobility students. The length issue has primarily been with middle and last names (especially those that have 2 last names)

We recommend that you use the Legal Name fields for those students whose names do not fit in the standard name fields. These legal names can be sent via state reporting.

Future Scheduling for LEP & 504 attributes
When generating a scheduling run, you have the choice to balance by "attributes". The only attributes available currently are gender, race, and SPED. This is important because it looks at codes to avoid putting too many students with the same attribute in the same section. Could we add two more attributes of LEP and 504? I think that these special populations are just as critical to balancing as is the attribute of Special Education. Since 504 and LEP codes already exist in Skyward

New Student Online Enrollment check for matches an option to also change values for existing records. We have found that when checking for matches because a student is already existing registrars are getting frustrated guardians don't always fill out the form exactly right or the student was put in the system with missing information. For example on the NSOE application a parent is asked for a previous district and school. If the school chooses to use the existing student record in the system when choosing the matches the existing record doesn't have those fields the application can't be approved because…

Link Calendar to Attendance for Emergency Days
Currently when we have an emergency day (snow day, cold day, etc), we need to manually go into each entity and delete out attendance for pre-arranged absences, etc. When editing the calendar for these days, it would be much more efficient and so helpful if a pop-up could ask if we want to delete student attendance for specific/all entities/schools.

Cloning Reports from entity to entity
We have many reports that we customize using User Defined fields. We're not just running reports with open ranges. It's very time consuming to create these specialized reports at all six entities. It would be nice if we could clone our reports from entity to entity. Thank you.

Positive Attendance Button through Student Access
With the current Pandemic and schools closing to go virtual at any time, it would be extremely helpful if we can have a button, by student by class, where a student can check in that they are present. This button should be only available when the district says activate it or if the entity is virtual. The option to activate it for students who are virtual but the school is not should also be available when the student is in the same class. Data Mining Oldest Only
When running a data miniing report, is there a way to get the report to pull just one record for each family (Family 1 and Family 2). We need to run an address report for district students (KG-12th grade) for Families 1 & 2 but we only want one record per family. So basically add an Oldest/Only button or feature to Data Mining Reports.

Skybuild and Data Mining date ranges
It would be a great time saver to include the option of 'current year' when building skybuild or data mining reports that run every year. Every summer, we have to edit each report to change either the school year or date range for the report to run based on the current school year.

Future Scheduling Reports - Free Period and Partial Schedules Reports
Future Scheduling Reports - Free Period and Partial Schedules Reports both have flaws in the underlying logic for the reports - neither of the reports looks at the schedule status for the student. That means if a future class was dropped, but not deleted, it still counts for the student and they don't appear on either report.
We had been running the reports to fix schedules, but knew of some students who had holes, but were not appearing on the reports. Caused lots of confusion and inaccurate schedules for students.

Unofficial transcript available in Family Access
It would be great if we could run a transcript that had unofficial as a watermark that could be posted - either in reports where they run a current one, or at the least one we could run like our report cards and post to the portfolio. This would make the end of the year scholarship, as well as other things along the way, smoother for our Student Services.

Texas - Industry Based Certifications (IBC) Module
On the course master add a field similar to the course groups (use the certifications table as the look up table – WS\ST\TB\SP\TB\PO) allowing us to associate certifications to the course. Would need to be school specific.
In the gradebook give teachers an option to add the certification, date, pass/fail. They would only be able to select from the certifications associated with the course they are currently in the gradebook. Data entry for the teachers would have to be simple and fast.
Display certifications to the student and parent in Family Access.
Populate the certification under the Special Programs tab…

Birth Country needs to be a dropdown or list.
In Student Profile, Birth History, the Birth Coutnry needs to be a dropdown or list because the field as it stands allows for anything to be entered.
Example of what we see - US, USA, U.S., U.s.a., United States, u s a

Skyward field for "today's date" in custom form (auto populated for parent)
As we ask parents to fill out custom forms online, we ask that they "electronically sign and date" the form. We would like to be able to have the field for date auto populate the date they are signing so they don't have to type that date. When we print the form, it does show a date completed but parents do not see that date. We want them to see that they are signing and dating the form.
