adding a blank or asterisks for default
On student Profile when entering the student key social security number or other id if the student does not fall in the range would like it to default to a blank or asterisks screen instead of first student in alpha.
this hopefully will stop mis-entering information under a students record that should not be updated.21 votes -
Birth Country needs to be a dropdown or list.
In Student Profile, Birth History, the Birth Coutnry needs to be a dropdown or list because the field as it stands allows for anything to be entered.

Texas - Industry Based Certifications (IBC) Module
On the course master add a field similar to the course groups (use the certifications table as the look up table – WS\ST\TB\SP\TB\PO) allowing us to associate certifications to the course. Would need to be school specific.
In the gradebook give teachers an option to add the certification, date, pass/fail. They would only be able to select from the certifications associated with the course they are currently in the gradebook. Data entry for the teachers would have to be simple and fast.
Display certifications to the student and parent in Family Access.
Populate the certification under the Special Programs tab…

Change History
Under Student we have the change history button could you add the Special education addition/changes to that field also so we can see who is changing the information?

Automated Email for Student Language field to notify ELL
Provide an auto-email option that looks at the Student Language field. If the student language field is something other than English, provide the ability to create an auto-email so that the staff in Special Services can evaluate the need for English Language Learner services.

District option for student indicators
We have many student indicators that are district wide. It would be helpful if you could add the indicator from 000 and it would be a district indicator and if you added the indicator from an entity it would be entity specific.

Add school issued device to student check out form
Can we add, to the student check out form, an area to indicate that their school issued device has been returned? Or better yet, could we add in the Web Access AUP area, a way to indicate who has a device and possibly the tracking number on it? Maybe have the ability to import from Destiny (as an example). Then have that pull into the form as well.

Method of Instruction within Student Browse
Would be very helpful to have MOI as a field available in one of the Student Browse Views or create a new View for this. This would be an easy and quick way for school admins or office staff to see which students are missing a code or to set filters to display one particular group and drop them to Excel. I know they can run a data mining report but the Student Browse is much quicker and easier to use for our staff who aren't comfortable creating their own DM reports.

Add an Automated Email option for Special Programs. And for Ltd Eng Prof. and Homeless, and Section 504, and....you get the idea...we have no options for automated emails in the Special Programs area.

SKylert Export
We would like to use "Other ID" instead of the "Internal ID" for the Skylert export file - this would make notification much easier through School Messenger. Most student browse screens have the Other ID included which may be exported to Excel to create the .csv list that can ultimately be used for notifications in School Messenger. We have also had student internal IDs match staff employee IDs which cause staff to get phone calls for students.

Add Date and Expiration Option to Critical Alert Messages
Everyone uses the Critical Alert field for much more than health options. The flag is nice and the option to have it pop-up to display. Our district especially uses this for parent issues, legal issues and much more. The problem is, that over time these messages are terribly outdated as a student's career progresses at a district. There should be a date field entered that includes a start/end date with an option to have the Critical Alert expire! Then it will auto-turn off the message when the user so desires to have it do so. Add Withdrawal date to Customize area on Stu Prof
Currently in the Customize area of the Student Profile you can opt to show the student's current enrollment date which displays only if the student is active. If the student is inactive the field shows as blank. It would be helpful if this field would switch to show the most recent withdrawal date if the student is inactive. This would be helpful to view when working in other screens to see when the student became inactive for the campus/district especially in regard to PEIMS coding. Indicators on class roster report
When running a class roster report (not as a teacher, but on the student management side) we want to be able to print the student indicators. The teachers are able to print this easily with this roster report, but it doesn't on the office side, it currently only allows us to print the 540, LEP, and Sp Ed indicator. Which is great. However, there are times we want to be able to print other indicators as well.

Other name fields needs a greater reach
The other name field needs a greater reach. We have students who go by different names and the other name field only applies to the class roster report and the gradebook. Would love to see the other name field utilized in student/family access. food service POS. Fee management customer fields. etc

Student Language Needs to be Under LEP Tab
Currently users with demographics access have all-or-nothing edit access to the Student Profile sub-tab under General if you provide them with security access to do so. The problem in TX is that only specific staff should be maintaining the Language field for a student. Because TX collects Home Language as part of enrolling a student it's imperative that not just anyone changes this field without referring to the Home Language form we collect the data on (state form). County Abbreviation in Address - Allow 4 Characters
Please allow 4 characters (maybe more) in abbreviations for Counties in the address tables. We require staff to enter counties when entering addresses. Since we have many divorced parents living in other states, we run in to counties with differing abbreviation conventions. For instance, Clay County in Kansas is CL. Clay County in Missouri is CLAY. And Clay County in Georgia is CY. And then to make it worse, Clark County in Nevada is CLA. Add asterisk next to Identity tab name to indicate student has had a name change entered, as is done under Special Programs
To help quickly flag students who have had an alternate name entered on the Identify tab, could an asterisk be added to the left of the Identity label? This is currently done for Special Programs.
