We need the ability to capitalize a letter in the a student's name.
We need the ability to capitalize a letter in the a student's name. For example McDougal, currently Skyward does not consistently allow the "D" to be capitalized. We need to be able to input a student name exactly as it appears on a birth certificate. This impacts every category listed above but I chose "Student".

Adding a Misc subset category to choose for Student Indicators.
We are using the Misc tab under Special Programs to indicate different categories for student observation. Using this we would like to have indicators show for students.
I was trying this out in our training database and was able to add in an indicator for Supplemental Accelerated Instruction with a green 4 and Safe Team Review with a purple 1. However, it gave a student both indicators as represented in the attached pictures even if they only had one of the categories.
When using the Activity Indicator I can select differnt ones to where I could add multiple different indicators…

Change verbiage on the "Distribute Student Demographic Information For" area of the Student / Student Profile tab
Under the"Distribute Student Demographic Information For" area of the Student / Student Profile tab, our Florida district would like the verbiage that appears when you click on the question mark to be changed for the "Public" check box to say :
"The Public flag is normally used to exclude student information from being sent outside the district such as newspapers, Social Media, TV and other media."1 vote -
Add the WISEid field to Student Browse Views
Could Skyward,
1. Include the WISEid in ALL Student Browse/Views
2. Include a “middle initial” field in ALL Student Browse/Views(For background, I asked both Skyward and DPI to confer and come up with a good way for us to compare data from Skyward Student Browse and WISEdash for Districts. It was discussed at their vendor meeting and the resolution was for me to submit a Product Idea, because a project could not be written for it.)

Idea: Add the local student ID to the At Risk Entry By Student screen so when we pull the spreadsheet we have it there.
Add local ID to At-Risk Entry by student screen, and have a mass add and mass end for At-Risk criteria by processing list.

Family Home Language
The Home Language field has been causing issues during enrollment. If a family is marked as 835-Spanish that populates into the LEP Home Language for the student also. The LEP form for that student is all 211 - English, but it currently has 835 - Spanish. Now someone must remember to update that field. I think it would save time and errors if the two fields were not linked. If they were not linked there could be a field add to the student that would allow us to populate the Home Language from the enrollment form.

default cursor to search field in all list screens
currently when you open a list screen the cursor is no where. You have to click on the search field. It should automatically put the cursor there so I can start typing. It already does this on the student profile.

Create Mass Add for Portfolio Highlights
We add highlights for all of our HS students. Most of the time we add the same highlight to several hundred students. Currently they must be entered one student at a time. Having a mass add with the ability to utilize a processing list would be a huge time saver.
