  1. Automated Email Notification

    Would be helpful if there was a trigger to generate an email when the student's grade/grad year is changed. We have various students whether immigrant international or just incorrectly placed when they first enroll and then are later updated to what their grade level should be. When this is done the office does not necessarily contact any other users that this change would impact - for example - students that would need to be tested for MSTEP or ACT.

  2. Email teachers/staff about notifications

    We have teachers/staff who don't notice the little yellow (!) notification/alert icon. We do know that they check their email on a regular basis.
    Is there a way that emails can be sent notifying them of notifications/alert and inform them what the notification contains?
    It doesn't have to be an immediate email but at most twice a day. Or set for customizable times of the day multiple times a day.
    Just would like to get teachers and other staff to notice that they have a notification/alert.

  3. Add ability to delete Message

    Please add a "Delete" button to Message Center. Users would like to be able to remove/delete a scheduled message prior to the deliver date/time. The button "Recall" is confusing to the end user. Thank you.

  4. Message Center - Text Option

    Teachers would like to be able to communicate via text. More and more parents prefer a text over an email (or a phone call). In addition to this, many parents do not use/access their email. Please consider adding the option to text in Message Center.

  5. Add School and Calendar Ranges to Message Center

    The Student Ranges available in Message Center do not include the capability of limiting the students by School or Calendar codes. Recently we sent scholarship application information to our High School students and Vocation students from out of the district all received the same email. As a result some of them applied for the scholarship even though they did not qualify because they were not residents of the district. They are coded with a different School code that would have been excluded them from the emails if the School code were an option to use to narrow the ranges. This…

  6. Automated Email for each type of office visits - Attendance, Discipline, Guidance

    We have separate offices/staff for guidance, attendance and discipline. We would like separate emails that are triggered when students use the Student Check-In.

    Also, we need Discipline Officer added to the Student Contacts for Office Visits.

  7. Quick Print for Parent Web ID Letter

    I'd like to see a Quick Print button on the web access tab so that we could set up or use a letter (either a Skyward configured one (like the basic/enhanced report card) or a custom letter like we have) and be able to generate a letter with the parents web access username and password. If there would be a better location to put the Quick Print button that's fine.   8. Entity INFO now has COUNSELOR needed in Auto email

    Since the COUNSELOR field is now available in entity Info this needs to be an option to select when in automatic email setup area. See attached screen shot of the view of Entity Info (with Counselor now has an option) and of Code Selection in Automatic Emails where Counselor is not available. When will this be added? It is not fair to give the Counselor field in one area but not make it available in others areas within Skyward
    Any Event/Trigger that offered Advisor please add Counselor field as an option

  9. MOI entry triggers automated email to support with multilevel communication

    Add an automated email for MOI changes/updates so when the MOI is changed, it would automatically trigger communication to corresponding staff (classroom teachers), secretaries and specialists (library staff, phy. ed., art, etc.) to notify them the return date or last day of in-person or virtual learning.

    The same to be done for parents to notify them of the approval request to their desired instructional program change (in-person to virtual or virtual to in-person).

    This would have to be visible by staff and in Skyward Family Access.

  10. Message Center - Expiration Date Irrelevant Messages

    Message Center - Expiration Date on Message - Some parents via Family Access have inquired if there was a way for the District to actually delete irrelevant messages that are being displayed via the message center in Family Access. We have advised parents that they are able HIDE messages that are no longer applicable but the question is if they can be deleted once their relevancy has expired? Users are able to RECALL expired messages and they then no longer appear in FA however it would be extremely helpful and convenient if users could at least have an "expiration date"…

    It would be extremely convenient and helpful if, when creating a message in the Message Center to send a "test message" to just the person who is creating the message prior to sending it out to students and/or families? It would be a nice feature to be able to "test" the message by sending it to oneself to make sure it is set up correctly prior to sending to students and families. Thank you!

  12. Message Center - allow TIME to be included when posting to Student and Family Access Message Screen

    When creating a message in the message center, there are 2 options, include in Student / Family Access and email. With the email you can specify a date AND time when it will be sent. But with Posting to Student / Family Access you only get a date.

    Please allow the same TIME option to be included for WHEN it will post to the student / family access page too. We might send an email at 6 pm and we do not want "early" notice also being posted to the message wall in Student / Family Access. The messages should…

  13. Message Center

    It would be great if on the message center, you could also have a Staff selection. Alot of times, I send out district wide messages for fundraisers and such. For staff, I enter additional names. That is time consuming and I honestly could forget someone. Having that option to select staff along with teachers, parents and students would be a huge help...because teachers do not include staff.

  14. All Fields in Data Mining Should Also Be Available As Insertable Fields For Automated Emails and Messages

    It seems odd that only specific fields are available to be inserted into Automated Emails and none are available in the Messaging Center. It would be extremely helpful to have the ability to create an Automated Email using all the fields available via data mining.

  15. Message Center Attachment Size Limitation check BEFORE allowing user to save/send message

    Currently if a message exceeds the attachment size limitation there is not an instant notification to the user in Message Center. The current setup allows the user to add large attachments that end up went saved try to process in the email queue for hours (we had an example of 6 hours) before failing and giving an error. In addition, the time that is spent for these messages to try and process and fail it is also holding up other messages from being sent with small or no attachments (until hours later).     Thank you for submitting this idea to the Product Ideas Portal.

    After some review, we have determined what we believe is causing Message Center email queues to error out due to attachment file sizes.

    This is due to a user attaching more than one file to their email within Message Center with a total combined file size exceeding the allowed maximum for the district’s email client.

    To help prevent this from happening, we will add the ability to set a maximum size limit for all attachments (“Total size limit for all Message Center Attachments for a given message”). This configuration will be located in the Maximum Attachment Size setup area (PS\SA\DM\DS).

  16. Ability to Set a Post Time

    We send a lot of emails at a specific time of day but I cannot control when it posts. As soon as I click "save" it will post even though I set the message to go out at a later time that day.

  17. It would be great if on the message center template if we were able to add all staff for a building. Not just the teachers.

    It would be great if on the message center template, if we were able to add all staff for a building. Not just the teachers. Currently it is only the teachers that have students assigned to them. For example: If there was an incident at the school that we could send a message center message out to all guardians, teachers, and all staff assigned to an entity.

    This is the second Skyward School District that I have worked for that believes it would be amazing to have an auto email generate when a secretary is putting in a new student and the home language is marked something other than English. This piece of information is critical for timely screening purposes and many times the information is not communicated in a timely fashion to the appropriate people.
