Add Skylert to the Mobile App
The goal of this RFE is to allow parents to update their Skylert information (especially to enter "Text Message" numbers)via the Skyward Mobile App. They currently have to do so via the web version of Family Access.

Add Option for Custom Forms in Family Access
Family Access needs a Custom Forms option. More and more districts utilize custom forms to store information create Online Forms and use forms during registration and new enrollment. Once submitted or completed parents don't get to see that information. An option should be created so that a secure option can show the form in Family Access under a Custom Forms tab which should also include a Configuration option to rename the tab if the district prefers to call it something other than 'Custom Forms.' Email all teachers at one time for Family Access
Add an option to "Email Teachers" button to Family Access similar to the one that is in the Student Profile area. It would be easy for a parent to email all the teachers as a group rather than one at a time. Skyward stated this is not available but thinks a RFE would be a good idea.
Ease of use for Family Access guest to communicate in numerous situation with all scheduled teachers at one time. Standards Grading: Listing Events
Currently events are displayed by date. When you have multiple events and multiple skills the screen is hard to read.
We would like to see events grouped together with their skill and date. If nothing else an option to view it his way would be another option.22 votes -
online registration and parent order
At this time only the 1st parent in the 1st family can do all of the updates. We normally put the dad in first and the mom in second but then mom who does all of the registration does not have access to all of the updates. I guarantee if we flip it to always mom we will have a dad that does all of the updates. because of this we spend a lot of time in the summer popping in to a family and changing the order if they bother to call us. Lunch Calendar characters
Currently we want to move to using the Lunch menu in Skyward but cannot because the calendar view does not support enough characters for us display the entire lunch so it can be viewed with clicking on it and printed
Add more characters to the lunch calendar in the web access for Parents to view the menu. Make the menu printable so parents can view the lunches for the entire month.54 votes -
No Show Count or Excluded Assignments
It would be beneficial for our district to enable a feature that would disable visibility in Family Access for specific students for specific assignments. Or the capability to select students that a specific assignment applies to within a classroom. There are some students that may need excluded from specific assignments and we would like those to not show in Family or Student Access.

SAML Relying Party Configuration
I am requesting that Skyward configure SAML for Districts that have an IDP. Minnetonka has it's own IDP - we use Identity Automation. I'd like to be able to use our SSO service to log all users into Skyward by way of a SAML integration with Skyward.
I am willing to help do the testing to get this up and running. I know there are other users that use Identity Automation for an IDP and could also benefit from this type of configuration.52 votes -
Mobile App Configuration
Requesting that the mobile app follow the entity configuration for Family Access.
We configured the Entity Configuration for Family Access not to show Homeroom and advisers as we did not want parents to be able to see these until a specific date. However the parents were able to go onto the Mobile app and see them in Student Information by clicking on the "I" button. Advisor and Homeroom are both listed. This defeated our purpose of wanting the parents to do the current student registration and then allowing them to see the schedules etc.

student access/student infor shows both families
A student can see information on both family 1 and family two on student access/student info. this is a problem! If a parent uses the student's login they will be able to see both family 1 and family 2's address phone and email. this is a major problem due to data privacy. we have turned ours off. we would like to move the family information to another tab so we can leave access to the student information and what is located there and turn off access to family information.

Add Attachment Feature
Is it possible to add a feature that will allow for parents to submit attachments such as JPG PNG PDF when requesting attendance requests (excuses)?
This feature will give parents the ability to upload any additional excuse documentation for the student (medical excuse personal excuse etc.). It will also provide the district with documentation provided by the parent that can be used in audit situations.26 votes -
Custom Tabs in Family & Student Access
We would like the ability to create custom tabs in Family & Student access. We have other content pages that would be awesome if we could integrate them into FA to make it a one stop shop.
Would like to have the option to name the tab. For the content would like to have the option to insert formatted text and HTML including iFrames with the student ID appended to the end of the URL. Would also like it to be LTI compliant.29 votes -
Change the 'Add a Fee' text
We would like to change the 'Add a Fee' tab to something like 'Optional Fees' or 'Manage Optional Fees' for parents to know where they have to go to add optional fee.
'Add a Fee' does not identify clearly enough that parents need to click to add/remove fees. Specially does not say anything 'Delete' the fees. This is very confusing so we are having a hard time to guide parents to pay fees. This small change will make huge difference to all districts with fees management modules because parents will fine the tab to add/delete easily to manage any type…

Online Conferences
It would be very helpful to have the ability for the parent/guardian to request an interpreter in online conference scheduling. Something we can pull in either data mining or (preferably) an indicator in conference reports. Without this we are using a lot of man hours compiling this information.
A box for parent/guardian to check stating they require an interpreter for parent/teacher conferences. Limit the screen to only so many records
Right now in Office Visits it is displaying all years including historical visits on one page. For those students who see the nurse 3 times a day it takes forever to load the page.
By limiting the number of viewable records on one screen and then allowing the user to page to the next 'x' number of records it would allow the pages to load quicker.21 votes -
Custom Form View on Family Access Read Only
It would be very helpful if we could make Custom Forms view-able to parents on Family Access. We have a Behavioral Standards custom form that is completed by several teachers. We would like parents to be able to view the form on Family Access instead of printing them all out and sending them home. Report Cards are available to our parents in the Portfolio tab and we would love to see the option to add Custom Forms there as well.

Display comments when application is not disabled
We would like to be able to post informational comments in family access for parents or students to see under the various applications. However you can only use the comments feature if the application is disabled. Example would be explain how to read or interpret the test scores so when parents would understand the data posted in Skyward.

Family Access User Portal Available from District
Please make the Family Access User Portal available to select when in the District Entity. So many times as a district user I have to view Family Access users. I have to switch to any entity (even if it is not the one the parent is associated with) and then I can search for the Family Access User. It would make like so much easier if it was viewable through the district. Saving as a favorite does not work as soon as you click on the district entity that favorite is removed from the list.

Obligations Visible in Family Access
Need parents to be able to see obligations in FA so that it can't be said that they didn't know or weren't informed.
Without parent being able to see them campus must send out constant reminders. Being able to tell parents that their obligations are always accessible would assist campuses in communicating to parents.37 votes -
Family Access - Both parents to edit My Account
Both parents in a Family (not just the one listed first) should have the ability to change the "Low Grade" for the "Receive Grade Emails for my students". The second parent is able to make changes to attendance notifications progress reports and the food service balance.
