Attendance Alert
It would be beneficial to have the ability to get an auto email or some kind of alert if a student is present the 1st period of the day and then is marked absent the next period.

Automatic email to parents to clear unexcused absences
It would be extremely helpful to have an automatic email go out to parents if an absence has not been excused within a week of their absence. I understand there is an email option parents can sign up for in Family Access but many of our parents don't use this.

Tardy Kiosk and In/Out minutes for state of IL
The check in times on the Tardy kiosk are not saved in the same place as the in/out minutes used for IL state ADA reporting. I know the state has changed lots of attendance requirements, but many districts are continuing with the ADA standards for attendance.
Since these are 2 different fields, it still requires staff to go into each student's record to input the check in time.
If there could be an option to have the tardy kiosk check in times tied to the in/out minutes for IL state reporting, I think more districts would use it.

Positive Attendance
We use Positive Attendance for students to check in to Student Services or the Health Center. This creates an attendance record so the teacher knows where they are. It would be great if these students could also "check out" when they are leaving that location so we can track where they are.

Add Student Grad/Grad Year to Report
Our Principals rely heavily on the Chronic Attendance Report. It would be very helpful for this report to include student grade level/grad year and/or the ability to sort by grade/grad year. It would also be helpful if a range of percentages could be entered and only those students print. I currently have to print it for each grade level put it in Excel and delete the students with less than 10% absent.

Add attachment to absence request in family access
Parents should be able to add an attachment or note to the absence request in family access to submit documentation of appointments, college visits, etc.

Pop-up Window for required Doctor's Note while entering Attendance
If a student is flagged "Required" Doctor's Note" it would be nice if there was a pop-up or some form of indicator that would not allow an excused attendance to be entered without that Required Doctor's Note either in an attachment form or even as fields that have to be entered. Such fields could be the date listed on the Doctor's Note along with the Doctor's name maybe even a free-form comment field in case anything needed to be entered in regards to said note.

AUTOMATED EMAILS FOR ATTENDANCE
Hello~
I would like to request to have an automated email trigger for attendance, so that we may notify parents when their student is tardy to school and/or absent.
Currently there is a trigger for Attendance Letters, which I am using. However, I would like to be able to notify parents when their child is tardy to school and copy an administrator as well. I do realize parents can opt to receive notice for attendance, but not all do, and this is another way to reach those parents.7 votes -
attendance eligibility
Our school is focusing on attendance and eligibility - right now, there is no way to schedule the Academic Eligibility report to run daily. It would be nice to add a "Today Less number of School Days" option for the date so I can schedule it to run daily instead of having to pull it daily.

MOI on attendance field
Can you put "Method of Instruction" on the Today's Attendance field for each student, so you can see, if the student is absent, what MOI they are instead of having to go to their profile page?

attendance edit comments
We would like the option to allow teachers to edit their own comments once they have saved comments.
Our elementary schools are set up with 2 attendance periods. When the teacher enters attendance in period 1, it populates period 2.
This year with COVID we have online teachers. They can change attendance type for period 2 after the initial save, but cannot modify comments for period 2.7 votes -
Link Calendar to Attendance for Emergency Days
Currently when we have an emergency day (snow day, cold day, etc), we need to manually go into each entity and delete out attendance for pre-arranged absences, etc. When editing the calendar for these days, it would be much more efficient and so helpful if a pop-up could ask if we want to delete student attendance for specific/all entities/schools.

Attendance Mail Merge
Similar to the mail merge in discipline, if you can create a freeform that will allow to create documents that pull student information directly from the student profile.
This will be useful for all PA users in completing school attendance improvement plans which are required by the state. Users can create a standardized template that uploads fields with the student information.

days present
It would be helpful to have a field for attendance: Total Days Possible( based on students entry date) that could be added to Custom Report Cards and Transcripts. At the end of the year/semester it would be extremely helpful to see how many days a student was absent out of a total number of days possible based on their entry date.

Renaming Existing Custom Attendance Letters without cloning
There are times we may need to rename an existing custom attendance letter without editing the content, such as we do with report templates at times, however, the only option is to clone/rename/delete the letter that is being renamed. Can the option be added to change the name of an existing custom attendance letter as needed? AT Letter>Config>select/edit - update the name?

Attendance report showing a list of the day's attendance in the Skyward Mobile App
It would be great if we could access the attendance "entry by date" section through the Skyward App, or access to any other report that shows attendance for that given day. This came about while we were doing an Intruder Drill, and I was asked to account for any kids that were known absent today. I tried to do it by memory, but it would be really handy if I could pull a report on my phone to know for sure in case of an emergency where we have to evacuate the building.

Request for Multiple Calendars on Day Summary Repo
My request would be that instead of putting in a range of calendars that you be able to choose which calendars to use for the report. As a CTC we have multiple calendars for different schools different sessions etc. which are needed for state reporting and other purposes. It would be nice to incorporate multiple calendars onto one day summary report instead of having to run multiple reports in order to catch all the calendars.

Have multiple tardy kiosks options
I would like to have the option to have a late arrival and early release tardy kiosk in addition to a Truly Tardy option. This would allow us to streamline operations during attendance taking at our highschool. We would like the ability for students coming in late to school to check themselves into the building. In addition the late arrival kids that are scheduled to be out of the building during the first 2 periods need to check into the building so we know that they arrived in school. Positive Attendance Enhancements
Just started using PA in our district for some little things and have been thinking of ways to make it better.
Have teachers be able to see a student's PA check in location in their grade book for their class period(s). This would be useful for cases where a student is absent from class it would be good to know if the student went to an approved location for that teachers class or not.
Have student self check in for nurse/office visits also update PA when they check in. Right now unless the secretary is watching the queue and updating…

Allow for sorting by other categories when posting daily attendance by name.
Allow for sorting by other categories (such as student indicators) when posting daily attendance by name. This way, teachers that are conducting classes in-person and virtually at the same time can sort quickly.
