Local Race
Get rid of Local Race all together (Profile > General Information). This is causing lots of confusion on campuses as to which one to use. We are not updating Local Race. In the process, Skyward needs to change the Auto Scheduler programming to use Federal Race instead of Local Race. As far as I know, that's the only program that is still using local race. Also, since this is "federal", this should affect all states, not just Texas.

We also no longer use Local Race, but the Federal Race. Local Race is the only race that shows in family access. If students are more than one race, if their race is not marked in Local Race, or if students are marked Hispanic in Federal Race only, their race does not show in family access. Since race needs to be accurate for state reporting, it would be helpful to have Federal Race show in family access so parents can view for accuracy for their children.

I agree about not getting rid of the field. We also use it to export to multiple third party platforms. Use Skycoder to hide it. Or make it required. That's what we did.

Used Skycoder to hide it and worked great.

DISAGREE! Please do not get rid of local race. We use it for exporting to our testing platform, etc. If you don't want to see it use Skycoder to hide it or at the very least Skyward can create an option to display it or not. Thanks.

Please do not get rid of Local Race... we are a large district and DO still use it in various reports. Yes, using Skycoder to hide it is a great option for districts who just don't want to see the field at all.

While I don't disagree with the Local Race field being duplicative, if it is causing confusion for your district, have you considered using Skycoder to "hide" the field from the users since you are not updating it anyway?
