I wish there was more flexibility in Student Login field, found under Product Setup-Skyward Contact Access-Security-set/up-config-Automatically Generate Logins and Passwords-Students. I took inspiration from how Spreadsheets work and how you can manipulate it to stop generating text based off a space or a comma. The way Skyward has it for Part 1: the options are seemingly logic based, First Name, Middle Name, Birth Day, Month, Year, etc and limit the length by letters. Same applies for Part 2, 3, and 4 the Tiebreaker. With the current trend we are experiencing with naming conventions, especially from those from latin american backgrounds have multiple first and last names, for example Josue Blevin (first name) Andrade Marquez (last name). I wish there was a way to have the First Name field recognize the space and stop reading the 2nd 1st name, Josue. Due to students having two first names and two last names it causes issues down the road for us as a Classlink user that is sharing student logins and conflicting with student emails, which for us is created as the 1st first name.1st last name as the base of their emails. Alternatively if it is simpler for Skyward Engineers, adding a comma to seperate and define the field to allow schools to have the option to capture only the 1st first name and the 1st second name that would help our school a lot.
