Add a Preferred Name Field in the Employee Profile
Would like to see in the Name Information section of the Employee Profile a field that we can populate with the employee's preferred name

I looked for the "short name" option and couldn't find it. I called customer service and this was the reply I received.

I did find that In HR there is not short name field. We only use their Legal (SSN) Name.

Is this for a STAFF member? There is a short name STAFF field on the student side.
Why would there be something available on the student side and not be able to do it on the finance side. The custom form option doesn't carry through in payroll, directory, etc where we really need it for our trans employees.
Please reconsider this especially given the fact that over 62 people voted for this.

We are experiencing more & more employees who use preferred first names. We need to acknowledge this and show respect to these staff members by having this field in Skyward and having it as a SEARCHABLE field. The solution of creating a custom form & Skycoding it into Employee Profile doesn't work because it is not SEARCHABLE (in the 'regular' search method, meaning of course you can data mine it, but that is not a tool/knowledge everyone has -- it should be as easy & the same process as searching an employee's legal name).

I think you should add a preferred name in HR side. Make it available to Employee's to request change in Employee management.
