    Thank you for submitting the product idea!  We have some additional information we would like to know about this -


    1. How does your district currently handle the adjusting of W4s and WT4s?

    2. Are custom forms utilized at all for this where you can link documents?

    3. How often are users changing their withholdings?

    4. Is there an approval process involved before these changes can be made on the Employee Profile?

    1. Asking the employee to Google the W4 and/or WT4, print it, manually complete it, and send it via interoffice mail to me.
    2. No. IRS does not offer a free fillable W4
    3. Please keep in mind that we want this not only for current employees to change (every payroll we have at least one new W4 from an existing employee), but we'd like this to be in the system for new employees. Example: As we onboard the new employee, they sign into Skyward to complete their electronic W4 and WT4 form, which then routes to the payroll dept.
    4. No. We are not to give tax advice of any kind, so approving/denying a W4 form would be 'advice'.

    We are looking for more input from our users on this topic.


    1. How does this affect your day to day duties with using an onboarding module?


    2. What system/process do you currently use to work with gathering this payroll information?  Do you utilize something like Custom Forms, FastTrack?


    3. What features/processes are you looking for with this onboarding module (ie. do employees upload the documentation, review/approval process, profile integration, etc...)


    This idea will remain open for further exploration and input from the Skyward Community.

    We are experiencing more & more employees who use preferred first names. We need to acknowledge this and show respect to these staff members by having this field in Skyward and having it as a SEARCHABLE field. The solution of creating a custom form & Skycoding it into Employee Profile doesn't work because it is not SEARCHABLE (in the 'regular' search method, meaning of course you can data mine it, but that is not a tool/knowledge everyone has -- it should be as easy & the same process as searching an employee's legal name).
