IEP legal name
When a students name is changed in the Identity tab, their legal name still prints on the transcript and report card. We need for it also to print on an IEP or 504. It isn't right that we can use that tab for students who have a name change because of gender identity, unless they are a special education student. It should be an option to change to print legal name on different reports, including IEPs & 504s.
8 votesSorry for the delayed message here, however I bring good news! We added some configuration settings to Special Education to allow you to choose what values to merge onto Special Education forms. There are options to pull a value from the Legal Name fields when they are filled in or only from the regular name fields, and from Gender Identity when filled in or only from the Gender field. This was completed and released with 05.23.06.00.04 - Jun 2023 Release PMP0 Addendum4, which was sent out 7/20/2023.

Identity Tab Legal Name Field Needs to be Searchable
The addition of the new Identity tab with Legal Name field is very helpful in allowing districts to follow OCR requirements. However, the legal name is not searchable in the system. This field needs to be searchable for many clerical reasons. Please make this field searchable as soon as possible.

Granular configuration for preferred names and gender identity in Student Management
While it's wonderful that Skyward 2.0 is developing methods to support Transgender and Gender Nonconforming students, this needs to be pushed further and make those options more granular. In instances where a transitioning student or gender nonconforming student does not feel yet comfortable notifying their family of their preferences, we should be able to comply with that request by restricting the display options in Family Access.
5 votesGreat News! We have completed adding the functionality that allows district to control gender identity from displaying within Family Access. This update will be available with the Addendum 8 of the June Release, which will be going out on 9/12/2024. Thank you for all your votes and comments. Revoke POD (Password of the Day) in Fix Fees Program
I would like to see the POD removed from the Fix Fees Program. I am very frustrated with putting in a critical service call first thing in the morning to get the code and it's 4 hours later and we still haven't gotten a call. I have now been sitting in live chat for over 30 minutes. We have school choice and a large school district. Parents enroll and pay fees online over the summer and now that students are dropping and spots are opening we transfer students to their first choice. But we cannot delete them out of the…

Make Enrollment Documents An Optional Requirment in NSOE
Currently, we have the option to turn on the ability for parents to attach enrollment documents in NSOE, but it is not required, the step is just there. If we choose a document type as required, we do not want the parent to be able to Submit their application without the attachments. They should be able to move passed the step if they, for example, need time to gather the documents, but they should NOT be able to Submit the application otherwise. With PR 4671611, new options have been added on the Attachment Types for NSOE that allow you to designate documents as requirements before a guardian can submit the application or registrars/administrators approve them. This project was completed with 05.21.02.00.06 and released on 4/15/2021. If there are additional needs to these options, please let us know!

Student Indicators visible in Gradebook
I see that student indicators were added to My Classes and My Students. This is helpful, but teachers spend more time in the gradebook than anywhere else. Anticipating students being added to, or removed from the online learning activity on a regular basis, it makes sense to have this indicator where it is used the most - in the gradebook - where the teacher may have to make adjustments for the student's assignments and overall grade. You will be able to view these within the following locations within the gradebooks, main screen, score entry screen, and quick score entry screens. Mass Add/Change/Delete Student Request/Scheduling to ONLY drop active
To mass delete schedules is a blessing, however, that utilty should only mass delete classes the student is ACTIVE in,not previously dropped classes. Can it be changed to Delete All Scheduled Course/Class Or Delete ONLY Active Scheduled Course/Class - two options?

Method of Instruction in Data Mining needs "As Of Date"
When running a data mining report, and selecting "Method of Instruction" we need an "As of Date". All other programs, under Special Programs, have this option in Data Mining.

Class Roster Report - Educator Access Plus
Currently there is no way for a teacher to print a class roster with indicators. It would be great if teachers could create a template to include method of instruction, status indicators, etc so they can have a report handy showing who is a virtual (online) student or other indicators. This is an option if you print a class roster from the office end, but teachers do not have access to this.

Grade Posting Administration - Requesting Grade Changes
We are having an issue after grade changes are requested. We allow teachers to request grade changes after the grading period posting closes. As Skyward is set now, once the teacher requests the change, it automatically opens the closed grading period and allows the teacher to post their own grade change without waiting for admin review/approval.
This seems to be a new issue as we have not changed what we are doing but the way that Skyward manages the requests has changed.

Would like to be able to mass change the end date for a special programs record - particularly the Method of Instruction.

Method of Instruction in Family Access
Currently, in order for families to see their student's method of instruction in Family Access they need to be in the Student Info tab then click on Request Changes to (student name). Could this MOI information be brought to the first page of the student info area or perhaps somewhere more easily seen for the parent?

Student Locator Report
It would be helpful to coaches, music/band teachers, and secretaries if you could print the Student Locator Report based upon a processing list. Also, if you were able to print it based on Activity that would be helpful as well.

On NSE, we would like to be able to enter a date range for when the parent chooses "Expected Enrollment Date".
Currently on NSE, a parent can enter any date for "Expected Enrollment Date". We are suggesting that we be allowed to enter a date range. This way we can control it and parents are not putting in birth dates, or dates outside of the school year. Thank you for your consideration.

Attendance - sort by Method of Instruction
Would like teachers to have the ability to sort their attendance screen (Post Daily Attendance) by Method of Instruction.

Transgender Students
As more students are coming forward as transgender, we have an increase in requests to have the student's preferred name on their profile for teachers and staff to use/see. These are not legal name changes, but we would like the ability to accommodate the student's request once they go through our approval process and still keep the legal name sending for state reporting.

student lookup by address
There are several good options available when clicking on the student link from the student's profile page. Example - F/M/L Name, DOB, Phone, Guardian. It would be nice if the option to search by address was added, as well. Otherwise we have to run a data mine. Is this something that could be added? It would be helpful, as well, to quickly identify students who are using the same address within a school district.
