Melissa,
The teacher can request a Grade Change. This opens the posting window for just them. There is a time frame (around 2 hours) they will have to make any necessary changes. An Admin or person who has access to the Grade Change Requests area can approve any grade difference. There is also an Automated Email Trigger that can be setup so that the person who approves the changes is alerted. Hope this helps! Here is some information for you on a Grade Change Request: https://support.skyward.com/DeptDocs/Corporate/Documentation/Public%20Website/HelpContent/Guides/Secondary_Gradebook_Teacher_Guide.pdf#nameddest=RequestGradeChangeProcess -

There is actually an option to create the detail dates, terms, days. Here is a tutorial that might help (you will choose the option to Create New Calendars and Clone Info): https://support.skyward.com/DeptDocs/Corporate/Documentation/Public%20Website/Tutorials/Software/WS_OF_AT_PS_UT_CC_929265_100_T.htm
This option is already in the software. You can find the ability to Force Teachers to Show All Grading Periods under Educator Access Plus/Gradebook/Setup/Config/District Setup (this is global so once enabled, it will be enabled for all entities)/Look under the Options Specific to Secondary Gradebook and you will see the option 'Force Teachers to Show All Grading Periods'. Hope this helps!
